“It takes ten years to raise a tree, and one hundred to raise a man.” So goes one popular Chinese saying. This idiom means that if one is only looking ten years into the horizon, then he should plant a tree. But if one is looking a hundred years into the future, he or she must raise a person. The importance of one person cannot be overemphasized. Yes, it is extremely important. Raising people is the key solution to any generation in any society. If you don’t raise people for the future, then there will be no future for anyone.
Education is all about raising a person. At present, we are in a crisis. Teachers, parents, and the rest of society are in despair. For Christians, schools, homes, and the church are the three important agencies of education. Unfortunately, the youth of today believe that these three are the last things they need.
Nonetheless, the only answer remains to be education. It is imperative that we bring back the original frame. And the three elements should be the education seedbed for the youths. We fail here, then we lost our future. Tomorrow’s children, our country, and the world must have a future.
It is our mission to raise God’s People who are equipped with both faith and the professional competencies. I find it absolutely urgent to raise the kind of people who will lead our generation, be responsible for the future of our country, and be dedicated to embrace God’s world. It appears from our vantage point that their light shines dimly at the moment, but the day will come when their light will light up the world. We teach our students with diligence, looking forward to the coming of that glorious day, very soon. We are trying to create a model of cooperation among our homes, schools, and church for the people of God.
So you can rest assured that, as we try to create a model of cooperation among our homes, school, and church for the people of God, we will do our very best to develop our students through our principle-driven Christian education. Then will they be transformed as those who bear the torch and set the world ablaze for God. Please stand beside us and intercede with us for our children at Sepum International Christian School.
